Academic Profile

I am Yasar Arafath Sharfudeen, a Ph.D. candidate at Pusan National University in South Korea. I specialize in Environmental Chemistry, focusing on analyzing and mitigating environmental pollutants, particularly in water and soil ecosystems. My research leverages advanced analytical techniques like LC-MS, GC-MS, and wastewater-based epidemiology, using Python and R to conduct complex data analysis for actionable insights.

My academic journey started with a Master’s degree in Chemistry from NIT Tiruchirappalli, where I honed my skills in Analytical Chemistry, conducting research in organic and inorganic compound synthesis and characterization. Prior to that, I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry at Jamal Mohamed College, gaining a strong foundation in chemical sciences and laboratory techniques.

I’m passionate about finding innovative solutions for pollution control and environmental restoration, combining my academic expertise and technical skills to tackle real-world environmental challenges.

Professional Expertise

Before pursuing my Ph.D., I gained over six years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, working with leading companies like Strides Pharma Science Limited, Syngene International Limited, and Amway India Enterprises Private Limited. My roles focused on quality control, method development, and regulatory compliance, where I applied advanced analytical techniques like HPLC, GC, and LC-MS/MS to ensure product quality and adherence to industry standards.

I played key roles in method validation, stability testing, and SOP development, while also managing cross-functional teams to maintain laboratory excellence. My experience with GLP, GxP, and cGMP compliance shaped my understanding of the rigorous standards necessary for quality assurance in the industry.

Personal Life

Outside the Lab

When I’m not immersed in research or industry projects, I love playing cricket, listening to music, and occasionally reading. These hobbies keep me balanced and help recharge my mind, giving me the energy and focus I need for my professional and academic life.

Living in Trichy, I’m also fond of spending time outdoors, finding inspiration in nature, which fuels my passion for environmental restoration.
